Johnson Matthey PLC said Wednesday that it will issue 315 million euros ($343.5 million) of sustainability-linked notes, and has received 400 million pounds ($522.9 million) of sustainable financing from the U.K. government.
The U.K. sustainable-technologies group said the EUR315 million note issue is linked to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. The loan backed by the U.K. Export Finance agency is to support investment into research and development of hydrogen projects, it said.
"The announcement demonstrates the strength of Johnson Matthey's commitment to our sustainability goals and targets announced last year. The financing will help support the significant investment we are making to help create a cleaner, healthier world," Chief Financial Officer Stephen Oxley said.
