Croda Gets GBP15.9 Million Grant to Expand UK Vaccines Site

Croda International PLC said Thursday that it has been awarded a 15.9 million-pound ($20.9 million) grant from the U.K. Government to expand a manufacturing facility in England that is used for a number of Covid-19 mRNA vaccines.
The FTSE 100 chemicals company said it will also invest GBP15.9 million in the expansion of the site. The investment will extend development of the high-purity lipid systems, delivery systems for next generation nucleic acid drugs such as mRNA vaccines.
The expansion will include the construction of a lipid system synthesis facility and improving existing facilities.
Croda shares at 1416 GMT were down 24 pence, or 0.3%, at 7,882.0 pence.
