Idaho Power Partners with Micron Technology on 40-Megawatt Solar Project

By Denny Jacob

Idaho Power said it would facilitate construction of a new 40-megawatt solar project in partnership with Micron Technology Inc.

As part of the contract, Idaho Power said it asked the Idaho Public Utilities Commission to approve a power purchase agreement with Black Mesa Energy LLC, an oil and gas company, to develop a dedicated solar facility for Micron's renewable energy use.

Micron, a memory and storage solutions company, said the project supports its goal to source 100% renewable energy for its U.S. operations by the end of 2025.

Idaho Power, part of parent company IDACORP Inc., has established its own goal to provide 100% clean energy to its customers by 2045.
