Honda Motor Co. and Sony Group Corp. said Friday that they intend to jointly develop and sell electric vehicles.
The two Japanese companies said they aimed to set up a joint venture this year, expecting EV sales to start in 2025.
The joint venture would combine Honda's expertise in auto making and Sony's technology in sensing, communication and entertainment, they said.
Sony said in January that it would create a car unit and explore entering the electric-vehicle market.
