CGI Inc. said Wednesday that it was awarded a five-year contract worth $34.4 million to implement a data-aggregating application at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to allow for data sharing between Medicare and state Medicaid.
The Montreal-based information technology consulting and systems integration company said it would implement the API Gateway, an application programming interface that would aggregate data from multiple source systems at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services' Center for Program Integrity.
"The implementation enables system users, such as law enforcement and the Office of the Inspector General, to access and analyze real-time information and proactively implement strategies to reduce fraud, waste and abuse," the company said.
