Danaher Corp. said it logged a higher profit for the second quarter as its sales grew.
The Washington, D.C.-based medical company on Thursday posted net income of $1.79 billion, compared with $927 million in the year-ago period. Earnings were $2.40 a share, compared with $1.24 a share in the prior year.
Adjusted earnings were $2.46 a share. Analysts polled by FactSet were expecting $2.05 a share.
For the quarter ended July 2, sales rose to $7.22 billion from $5.3 billion. Analysts were looking for $6.72 billion.
