By Dominic Chopping

STOCKHOLM--Aker Solutions ASA said Tuesday that in a consortium with Siemens Energy AG it has signed a "very large" contract with ScottishPower Renewables for work on the U.K.'s East Anglia Three offshore wind project.

The energy industry service provider said the contract is for the provision of high-voltage, direct current, or HVDC converter stations for East Anglia Three and is subject to the project reaching financial close in 2022.

East Anglia Three is located in the North Sea off the east coast of England and is planned for an installed capacity of up to 1,400 megwatts. It follows the commissioning of East Anglia One in 2020 and is part of the overall East Anglia Hub development which includes East Anglia Two and East Anglia One North, with a planned total capacity of up to 3,100 megawatts.

Aker Solutions defines a "very large" contract as being between 2.0 billion and 3.0 billion Norwegian kroner ($240.1 million-$360.1 million).
