Singapore Telecommunications Ltd. and Hyundai Motor Co. have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to collaborate on various ventures to support smart manufacturing and connectivity for a electric-vehicle battery subscription service.
Hyundai Motor will combine its expertise in developing automotive and manufacturing solutions with Singtel's capabilities in 5G, Internet of Things, and next-generation infocommunications technologies and solutions to develop advanced digital solutions to transform the way vehicles are currently manufactured, the two companies said in a joint statement on Tuesday.
The MOU comes after Hyundai Motor's announcement in October 2020 that it's establishing a new state-of-the-art Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Centre in Singapore to carry out studies on future mobility and explore innovative solutions, services and disruptive technologies, they said.
