NXP Semiconductors NV shares rose Monday, following Friday's announcement the company will join the S&P 500 prior to the start of trading March 22.
NXP will replace Flowserve Corp. on the S&P 500, S&P Dow Jones Indices said after the bell Friday.
At 12:19 p.m. ET, shares of NXP were trading 7.7% higher at $197.79. Volume at the time topped 5.4 million shares, above the 65-day average volume of some 2.6 million.
