The Pentagon on Wednesday said it awarded Northrop Grumman Systems Corp. a $4.8 billion contract to develop, modernize, retrofit and sustain variants of the U.S. Air Force's Global Hawk drone fleet.
The Global Hawk is an unmanned aircraft used for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance.
The work will be performed in San Diego, California, and is expected to be completed by Sept. 30, 2030, the Pentagon said.
