Communications Services Up On Brexit, Trade Optimism - Communication Services Roundup

Communications services companies rose on growing optimism about Brexit and 5G data network development.

One brokerage said 5G data networks were becoming meaningful sources of revenue from telecom-equipment makers such as Nokia, despite an uneven start to order trends.

"With Sprint launching 5G in four more cities (NYC, Washington, LA, Phoenix) in late Aug, and Verizon launching 5G in three more cities (NYC, Boise, Panama City) in late September, we believe Nokia may be seeing more 5G customer acceptances in U.S. along with Korea," said analysts at brokerage Credit Suisse, in a note to clients.

Walt Disney's poorest showing for a major cinema release this year, "Maleficent: Mistress of Evil," was still good enough to score the top spot at the box office this weekend.
