Outsource to New York City™ will present new tech opportunities across all Healthfirst technology departments, combining experienced technology professionals and trainees with a significant number of positions earmarked for underrepresented populations, including Black, Latinx and Women. Eleven trainees, with no prior technology experience, have already been brought on board from these communities, in alignment with the Outsource to America® D&I model.
“Our work with GalaxE aligns with our ongoing commitment to improve the quality of life for New Yorkers, from providing access to quality healthcare and now offering career and training opportunities,” said GT Sweeney, Chief Information Officer, Healthfirst. “This is truly a win-win for Healthfirst and residents of the Bronx -- who better to build digital solutions for the communities we serve than people who live in those communities. We look forward to building the workforce of the future with local bright and diverse talent.”
“I appreciate that Healthfirst and GalaxE.Solutions are investing in the Bronx by providing training and employment in IT careers,” said Assemblywoman Latoya Joyner (D-Bronx, 77th AD), chair of the Assembly Labor Committee. “Healthfirst has invested in the well-being of our residents for nearly 30 years and understands how socioeconomic barriers can impact health. Offering job opportunities like this will have a positive, long-lasting impact in our community.”
New York is the sixth city in GalaxE’s rapidly expanding nationwide Outsource to America® program, which has already hired hundreds of team members in Detroit, Harford, Milwaukee, Nashville and St. Louis, with major corporate collaborators Cigna, Northwestern Mutual, Fiserv and others. As the 02A program continues to gain momentum, additional cities will be announced soon.
“Our program continues to bring transformational technology to cities across the country while repatriating jobs from overseas back to America,” said Tim Bryan, CEO, GalaxE.Solutions. “We are proving that we can deliver world-class tech solutions with a diverse, local workforce that also benefits communities and those that reside there.”
The Outsource to America® program is designed to introduce diverse candidates to careers in technology. Our focus is on local communities, opportunities, and partnerships to create a well-rounded and representative workforce. We're looking for team members who have the aptitude, attitude, and drive to succeed.
