Morningstar Quantitative Rating™

Also called: MQR

What is the Morningstar Quantitative Rating™?

The Morningstar Quantitative Rating (MQR) is calculated by a Morningstar-developed tool to expand the number of equities and funds we cover.

Morningstar Quantitative Ratings are available for stocks and funds that are not directly covered by our analysts. Ratings are assigned based on statistical modeling, a tool designed by Morningstar to mimic the decision-making processes of our analysts. Quantitative ratings follow the same structure as their analyst-assigned rating counterparts. Securities designated with the quantitative ratings are labeled with a “Q” superscript.
