Day Trader

What is a day trader?

A day trader is an investor who seeks to make money off intraday price fluctuation in markets.

Day traders usually buy and sell investments during market hours and rarely hold positions overnight in order to reduce risk heading into the next trading day. Day traders use many strategies to make short-term investment returns like scalping (making small gains on many positions) and news-based trading (buying and selling positions based on political or economic news).
