Open-end funds and exchange-traded funds gathered USD 1.4 trillion in flows as assets hit a new high of USD 50 trillion, more than double the level at the end of 2015.

Actively managed equity vehicles had USD 454 billion in outflows for the year, its second-worst showing ever, despite a second-straight year of strong US market returns.
