Analyst Note

Lord Abbett Alpha added Jahiz Barlas as a portfolio manager effective Sept. 15, 2023, the firm announced. Barlas, who reports to Giulio Martini, the lead manager of the strategy, also contributes to the management of the firm's multi-asset strategies. Meanwhile, Jeff Herzog stepped down as a portfolio manager of Lord Abbett Alpha after he was appointed co-chief investment risk officer at the firm, joining Michael Duffy in that role. Lord Abbett Alpha combines the firm's five small-cap strategies, which typically stick to a set allocation within this strategy. Thus, the role of Martini and others is subordinate to those of the teams running the underlying strategies, and these changes do not affect the strategy's Morningstar Medalist Rating or People Pillar rating.
