Understanding Your Client’s Sustainability Preferences

Amendments to the Markets in Financial Directive (MiFID) II and the Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) mean that from 2 August 2022, a client’s sustainability preferences must be included in the suitability process.

In line with these new amendments under MiFID and the far-reaching implications of the EU Action Plan and its components, Morningstar has developed a guide that aims to help advisers meet their regulatory requirements and frame conversations about sustainable investing with their clients, while providing a general guide to finding appropriate investments.
