Nic completed his articles at Deloitte and Touche. In 1999, he joined Nedcor Investment Bank and later became Head of Investments. Following the merger between BoE and Nedcor, Nic was appointed Head of Nedgroup Investments.

Director of Passive Strategies and Sustainability Research. Hortense leads a team that provides independent research on ETFs and index funds domiciled in Europe. Since 2017, her responsibilities have expanded to include Sustainable Fund Research.

Anne Cabot-Alletzhauser

Alexander Forbes Group

Anne spent 32 yrs managing pension fund assets in North America, Japan and EMEA. In 1992, she pioneered the development of the multi-manager management approach of pension fund management that has become the hallmark of theindustry today.

 

Alida De Swardt

RMI Investment Managers

Alida assumed the role of CEO in March 2018. She started her career at RMB in 1999 as part of the derivative structuring business where she was responsible for establishing the institutional structuring business and financial markets research team.

Stephen Grootes

SAfm Sunrise

Has been reporting on analysing South African politics since the mid-2000s. He currently presents SAfm Sunrise and is also a political writer at The Daily Maverick website, which broke the Gupta Emails story last year.

FinTech innovation is the opportunity to master a global shift in financial services, as business models are due to transform from transactional revenues to the offering of added-value propositions under MiFID II. The capability to create client-centric digital platforms will divide winners from laggards in the digital era, all based on artificial intelligence to augment the added-value role of intermediaries and clients’ capability to make financial decisions. This shift is not easy and success requires to look beyond disruptive innovation toward sustaining innovation, centred on the the digitisation of knowledge, while digital payments are the new entrants’ gateway to the banking relationships centred on personal journeys and experiences.
