Tricia Rothschild, CFA

Chief Product Officer

Tricia Rothschild, CFA, is chief product officer for Morningstar. She is responsible for product strategy, innovation, development, and execution for the solutions delivered to clients. 

Most recently, Rothschild was head of global advisor solutions, setting the strategic direction for the company’s wealth management and online brokerage business and overseeing priorities for this segment across Morningstar’s investment management, software, data, and research capabilities. 

She previously led Morningstar’s Advisor Software business unit. In her 20 years at Morningstar, she has led aspects of the firm’s business serving each of its three core audiences: individuals, advisors, and institutions. Rothschild began her career at Morningstar as a closed-end fund analyst and later became the international editor of Morningstar Mutual Funds. She also created the firm’s initial 529 college-savings plan database and corresponding advisor tools, served as the e-commerce manager of Morningstar.com, and led the content management for that site for several years. She previously developed the firm’s equity research business, leading its growth from 2003 through 2012. 

Rothschild holds a bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University and a master’s degree in Russian and Central European economics from Indiana University. She also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst®designation. She was a contributor to the book Exploring Advice: What You Need to Know About Good Financial Advice, a Quality Financial Plan and the Role of a Fiduciary (CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform, 2016). She sits on the board of directors of Y-Charts, a financial-terminal provider based in Chicago.

Rob Pinkerton is chief marketing officer for Morningstar.

An expert in consumer, business, and technology marketing, Pinkerton was previously chief marketing officer for HelloWallet, a leading provider of online financial wellness that Morningstar acquired in 2014.

Before joining HelloWallet, Pinkerton served in executive marketing and product roles for Adobe Systems, LexisNexis, and Siebel Systems (which was acquired by Oracle). Pinkerton was also a legislative counsel with responsibility for technology and social policy issues in the U.S. Senate during the 104th and 105th Congress.

Pinkerton holds a bachelor’s degree in economics, political science, and history from the University of Richmond, a juris doctor degree from the University of Baltimore School of Law, and a master’s degree in business administration with concentrations in information technology management, marketing, and strategy from Carnegie Mellon University.
