Justin Pan is an associate equity research analyst, energy and utilities, for Morningstar Research Services LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Morningstar, Inc.

Before joining Morningstar in 2021, Pan interned at Gamco Investors, where he worked in equity research, and ABC News, where he worked under Rebecca Jarvis, covering business, economics, and technology.

Pan holds a bachelor's degree in economics and English language and literature from the University of Chicago.

How we make money

We sell different types of products and services to both investment professionals and individual investors. These products and services are usually sold through license agreements or subscriptions. Our investment management business generates asset-based fees, which are calculated as a percentage of assets under management. We also sell both admissions and sponsorship packages for our investment conferences and advertising on our websites and newsletters.

How we approach editorial content
