Morningstar Market Barometer

Morningstar Market Barometer

The Morningstar Market Barometer visualizes U.S market activity.

Like the Morningstar style box, the market barometer divides the U.S. stock market into 9 boxes along two axes – company size (large companies to small) and growth and value factors.

The shading of a box indicates the performance of the stocks in that segment. Shades of green indicate positive returns while shades of red indicate negative returns.

For example, this barometer indicates that Mid Cap Growth Stocks are outperforming the rest of the market, while Small cap value stocks are underperforming.

At a glance, investors can use the Morningstar Market Barometer to find out how different segments of the market are performing.
