The Week Ahead: Earnings Season Winds Down

As earnings season winds down, media and retail stocks are set to report. CBS and Disney will give updates on how they are faring in a rapidly shifting landscape. Analyst Neil Macker thinks Disney shares look undervalued today, while CBS is more fairly valued.

Macy's and Nordstrom report on Thursday as department stores generally have been struggling against changing consumer preferences and the rise of e-commerce. Macy's has been rolling several strategic efforts to combat its sales decline, but our analyst, Bridget Weishaar, thinks that although some of them are prudent, they are unlikely to have an immediate impact.

Other earnings this week include Snap and travel-focused firms Marriott and Priceline.

Inflation is the highlight of the data week with CPI due on Friday. We're also looking out for job openings and productivity.
