The Week Ahead: Data, Earnings Take a Breather

Jeremy Glaser: Welcome to The Week Ahead. After a burst of data last week, it will be much quieter over the next few days.

The ISM services index on Monday will provide a snapshot of the how the nonmanufacturing economy is doing. Factory orders are also due that day. Job openings on Tuesday will give another reading of the strength of the employment market.

Earnings are few and far between. Wide-moat Jack Daniel's parent Brown-Forman reports on Wednesday. And Thursday will bring an update from Smucker, which reported tepid results last quarter.
