Economic Data Remains Strong as Markets Struggle

U.S. markets fell soon after the opening bell on Thursday, as domestic stocks continue to fail in generating any momentum this week.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average has been on the decline for four-straight days, and the blue-chip benchmark struggled early Thursday partly because of a 1.4% drop in Exxon Mobil (XOM) shares. The S&P 500 was flat as gains seen in the industrials sector were limited by losses in utilities and real estate.
