With the holidays around the corner, U.S. markets opened Friday's trading session rather flat but still looked to finish the week on a high note after the rally that had taken place earlier this week.
Investors will have to wait until at least next week to see if the Dow Jones Industrial Average can break through the 20,000 milestone. The blue-chip index, however, was on its way to record its seventh consecutive weekly gain--a streak that matches its longest weekly run since late 2014. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite made small gains after the opening bell and also looked to log weekly gains.
