Financials and Tech Drag U.S. Stocks Lower

U.S. shares opened slightly lower Friday morning, dragged down by financial and technology stocks. The Dow, S&P 500, and Nasdaq were down about 0.31%, 0.61% and 0.29% respectively.

According to the University of Michigan survey, consumer sentiment in November climbed to 91.6 in early November. Consumer sentiment is directly related to consumer spending, which accounts for more than two thirds of the economy. The final estimates for November, which will include interviews conducted after election day to Nov. 20, will be released around the end of the month.
