Morningstar's Coverage of the 2016 Election

Our take on the investment implications of a Trump administration.

Donald Trump's unexpected victory Tuesday sent initial shock waves through global markets overnight, but investors had calmed down considerably by the time U.S. markets opened Wednesday.

Still, with considerable uncertainty surrounding economic policy in the coming years, many investors are wondering what they should do.

Morningstar's basic message is to not make any sudden portfolio moves. We aren't planning major revisions to our fair value estimates for stocks or our analyst ratings for funds. This is a good time though to take a step back and make sure you are comfortable with your asset allocation given we could see further volatility in the weeks and months ahead.
