Week Ahead: Will Nike's Win Streak Continue?

For Morningstar, I'm Jeremy Glaser. Welcome to The Week Ahead, our quick take on what investors should have on their radar screens for the week starting March 21.

After a burst of data last week, things look set to quiet down.

Nike reports on Tuesday. Headwinds like heavy marketing spending and a strong dollar haven't been enough to dent this wide-moat firm. The company has even seen strong demand in China despite concerns of the economic slowdown in that market. We will see if their winning streak can continue.

Red Hat will also provide an update on Tuesday. Although shares have rebounded from their 2016 lows, we still think the open-source software firm is trading at a modest discount to its fair value estimate.

General Mills has been posting modest sales growth recently, but the real question for the firm is its long-term profitability. Companies like Kraft Heinz have been raising the bar for the entire industry, so we'll see how General Mills plans on revamping its cost structure.

There is also a lot of housing data this week, including existing and new home sales, which comes on the heels of strong starts data.

Stay tuned to Morningstar for our take on all of these stories.
