Strong operating results could help recapture the magic.
Walt Disney's (DIS) growing operating income and reasonable valuation on a cash-flow basis make it an attractive investment in a volatile market.
While revenues increased at a tepid rate of 9% to $6.0 billion during the third quarter, operating income increased impressively, rising 20% to $1.2 billion, the company reported after the stock market closed Thursday. Operating income grew faster than revenue because of effective cost cost-cutting and more efficient capital investment.
