Only a Handful of Analyst Rating Changes in June
There are several newly rated Morningstar Medalists, however, including funds from Vanguard, Fidelity, and DFA.
June was a calm month for Morningstar Analyst Rating changes, with just two upgrades and three downgrades. We initiated coverage on five funds, which are all Morningstar Medalists. The complete list of the changes can be found in the table below.
Lord Abbett Developing Growth (LAGWX) was upgraded to Silver from Bronze, riding on its long-term success under manager Tom O'Halloran. He's led the fund to one of the small-growth Morningstar Category's best records during the past decade through June 2015 using a high-turnover, aggressive growth strategy that can be quite volatile. However, the fund has come out ahead over the long run, with low expenses helping its case. Lord Abbett's Parent rating has also improved to Positive from Neutral, as turnover on the investment team has slowed and expense ratios have come down. The fund has been closed to new investors since 2011.
