As Expected, Dell Disappoints

But the worst of the PC maker's recent problems seem to be over.

After warning investors about disappointing fourth-quarter results earlier in January, the worst finally seems behind Dell (DELL).

Dell’s fourth quarter results came in almost exactly like the company warned just a few weeks ago. After wading through some challenging quarters, the company no longer seems to be constrained by the component shortages that plagued it in the third and fourth quarters. This can be seen in shorter lead times (the expected time it takes for customers to receive a product after ordering it) on its personal computers.
