Emerging Global Advisors to Shutter a Dozen Emerging-Markets ETFs

Another double-leveraged European-stock ETN launches, a new program from NYSE Arca will provide more liquidity to thinly traded ETPs, Global X drafts an emerging- and frontier-markets ETF, and Reggie Browne is set to depart from KCG Holdings.

On Thursday, Emerging Global Advisors announced plans to close and liquidate 12 small, passively managed, and thinly traded exchange-traded funds.

Although the funds being shuttered are half of Emerging Global's ETFs--Emerging Global currently issues 24 in total--they represent only a fraction of the firm's assets. All have struggled to gain traction with investors, with none having more than $11 million in assets.
