Behind the Analyst Ratings for Three International Funds
The stories behind a Gold, and a Bronze, and a Neutral.
The new Morningstar Analyst Ratings for funds have attracted much interest, and in the wake of their rollout, we have been writing a series of Fund Spy columns explaining how the ratings process worked in practice for specific funds.
In the first column, Karen Dolan looked at a wide variety of mutual funds at different rating levels. Last week, Eric Jacobson provided detailed discussions of the reasoning behind the ratings of three bond funds. And yesterday, Russ Kinnel shared the background on several funds that had received midlevel ratings of Bronze or Neutral.
