Asia Ends Broadly Higher on Firm Global Cues

Shares in Asia ended higher Monday, following a regime change in Italy and the passage of an austerity budget in the debt-stricken nation, and after economic growth data in Japan lifted sentiment.

At close, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng, Japan’s Nikkei and China’s Shanghai Composite ended up 1% to 1.9%. India’s Sensex, however, closed 0.4% lower. While, across the region, Australia’s All Ordinaries closed up 0.2%.
