Stock Futures Dive on Euro Debt Worries

Stock index futures pointed to a sharply-lower opening on Wall Street Wednesday, as sovereign-debt concerns in several Eurozone nations took a toll on risk appetite. Also, the continued impasse over raising the debt ceiling in the United States added to the global nervousness over equities.

At the time of writing, S&P 500 futures were trading lower by 12.4 points to 1306 while Nasdaq 100 futures were off 19.5 points to 2347.
