(MarketNewsVideo.com) -- Encana Corporation (ECA) announced on Thursday that it is maintaining its quarterly dividend of 20 cents per share. The company announced strong earnings of $1.8 billion, or $2.35 per share.

Investors cheered the dividends and the earnings report, sending shares higher by nearly 2.5 percent.

In other dividend news, Occidental Petroleum Corporation Del (OXY) maintained its quarterly dividend of 33 cents per share. Unitedhealth Group Incorporated (UNH) maintained a dividend of 3 cents per share. Unitedhealth Group Incorporated (UNH) maintained a dividend of 3 cents per share.

Among dividend increases, 3M Company (MMM) announced its quarterly dividend of 52.5 cents per share, an increase of about 3% over its prior dividend in November of 51 cents.

Among dividend reductions, Arlington Asset Investment Corporation (AI) announced a dividend of 35 cents per share, a decrease of about 65% from its prior dividend in September of 1 dollar.
