(MarketNewsVideo.com) -- This afternoon, the Washington Post (WPO) declared its quarterly dividend of $2.25 per share, a five percent increase from its prior dividend. With the dividend, the company also announced it would buy back up to 750,000 shares of its common stock to increase shareholder value.

In afternoon trading, shares of the Washington Post were trading higher by about one percnet on the news.

In other dividend news, Goldman Sachs (GS) maintained its quarterly dividend of 35 cents per share. McKesson Corporation (MCK) maintained its quarterly dividend of 12 cents per share. Baker Hughes (BHI) maintained its quarterly dividend of 15 cents per share. And Kinder Morgan Energy (KMP) maintained its quarterly dividend of $1.05 per share.
