Second-quarter fund letters highlight two major market concerns--and several top stocks.
We love reading mutual fund managers' quarterly letters. They are usually full of interesting tidbits and if one looks carefully, investment ideas. Every quarter, mutual funds are required to publish reports, and many portfolio managers take the time to express their opinions about the markets, individual stocks, or other items on their minds.
As always, when choosing the letters for the quarter, we looked for managers who proclaim a style similar to our own: Those who look for stocks trading below their estimated intrinsic values that provide investors with a margin of safety. While we are not endorsing these mutual funds, these managers follow the examples set by Ben Graham and Warren Buffett.
