Stock Ideas from Our Managers of the Year
A peek inside the portfolios of Nygren, Eveillard, and Rodriguez.
The winners of Morningstar's 2001 Manager of the Year Awards are all fantastic stock-pickers. Bill Nygren (Domestic-Stock Manager of the Year) and Jean-Marie Eveillard (International-Stock Manager of the Year) are masters of the craft of stock valuation as practiced by Ben Graham and Warren Buffett. Fixed-Income Manager of the Year Bob Rodriguez also picks stocks, and was on our shortlist of finalists for Domestic-Stock Manager of the Year.
Little surprise, then, that a glance into their portfolios uncovers some interesting stocks. I pulled out some of the holdings from their latest portfolios and have put together a list of those that currently earn high star ratings from Morningstar or have positive Analyst Reports. (If you want to check up on the portfolios of other distinguished investors, go to the drop-down menu on ourGreat Stock-Pickers Center.)
A quick reminder about how our Morningstar Rating for stocks works: A rating of 4 stars means we think the stock is undervalued by 10% to 30% based on current market prices, and a rating of 5 stars means we think the stock is at least 30% undervalued.
