(Update as of 9:00 am CDT) Stock prices rose shortly after the market opened on Friday, with the Morningstar US Market Index gaining 1%, led by gains in technology stocks. Friday’s gains continue a 0.5% rise in stocks on Thursday.

All 11 stock sectors were up over Thursday’s close. Gains were led by technology, up 1.6%, and communication services, up 1.1%.

The Morningstar Style Box was also up across the board. Large growth stocks led the way with a 1.3% gain while small value trailed the rest of the style box with a 0.5% increase.

Carnival Corp was the most-actively traded stock Friday morning, gaining 7.8% to $18.50 per share. Among other actively traded stocks, Tesla was up 1.6% to $261.50, Marathon Digital Holdings was down 2.8% to $13.43, and Lucid Group was up 0.7% to $6.93.
