ETF Assets Show Slight Growth in April
IShares MSCI Japan and SPDR are among funds with biggest inflows, though.
Assets in exchange-traded funds showed little growth in April, but two ETFs were among the top-selling funds, according recent estimates from a fund industry trade group and a researcher.
Total ETF assets rose slightly in April from $161.7 billion in March to $162 billion, according to the Investment Company Institute. Domestic diversified and sector equity ETFs shed total net assets as the prospect of rising interest rates and turmoil in Iraq roiled equity markets and sent the Morningstar U.S. Market Index down more than 2% in April. Total domestic ETF assets fell by nearly $1 billion to $134.6 billion between March and April, according to the ICI.
