Company emails are key in Apple, Google hiring case, judge says

SAN JOSE, Calif, Jan 17 (Reuters) - Internal emails show that executives at tech companies such as Apple and Google believed that an agreement to refrain from poaching each other's workers would bring real financial benefits, a U.S. judge said on Thursday.
Apple stock analyst Rick Hanna sees Google CEO Eric Schmidt’s resignation from Apple's board as recognition of the firms' growing competition in the mobile phone and software space but does not see Google as a threat to Apple's long-term competitive advantage.
Research in Motion's disappointing results highlight how far behind the BlackBerry has fallen, but the firm has the resources to avoid fading into obsolescence, says Morningstar's Joe Beaulieu.
