      Commentary

      Mon, 26 Apr 2010

I am new to American Funds.  My company has AF as its 401k provider and I can buy the Class A shares without loads. My target for equity is about 60/40 US/International, with international tilting a little towards emerging markets. Is the following allocation fine for my equity portion?      Growth Fund of America (AGTHX) = 30%      Capital World Growth and Income (CWGIX) = 30%      The Investment Company of America (AIVSX) = 30%      New World Fund (NEWFX) = 10% Other funds available in my 401k are:      New Perspective Fund ( ANWPX )      The Income Fund of America (AMECX)      American Balanced Fund (ABALX) Thanks!
