    Commentary

$110/month for Medicare Part B, $138/month for Medigap coverage and $279/month for long term care insurance.  Totals $527/month.  'Twould be worse if i couldn't get my drugs on VA co pay and/or a dental discount plan from Carrington 500 to which I suscribe costing $140/year.  Those save me from having to buy Medicare Part D coverage at $55/month. Medigap is AARP's Plan 'F' from United Healthcare Insurance Company and long term care @ $200/day for four years with 20-90 day exclusion and CPIU +1 inflation protection is from New York Life Insurance Company.  AM Best rates UNH 'A' and NYL 'A++'. Admittedly 'Cadillac' plans but I don't ever want to see a significant medical bill or risk penury in my dotage due to an unexpected medical catastrophe. Let this be a warning to younger members of this forum that you must plan early and well to cover medical insurance expenses for your retirement or else you won't have much of a retirement to enjoy.  Buy your long term insurance early around age 45 and the premium is MUCH lower, usually about $100/month. FYI and a word to the wise. Peace and love, Flakey
