The U.S. government ran a budget deficit of $134 billion in November, the Congressional Budget Office said in an estimate (https://www.cbo.gov/publication/53363?utm_source=feedblitz&utm_medium=FeedBlitzEmail&utm_content=812526&utm_campaign=Express_2017-12-07_16%3a00) on Thursday. That's $2 billion less than the same month last year. For the month, receipts were up $10 billion and spending rose by $8 billion. In the first two months of fiscal 2018, the deficit is running $15 billion higher than in the same period a year ago. The government's budget year begins in October and runs through September.
