Loss Aversion

Loss aversion describes investors’ tendency to feel more pain when they lose a certain amount of money, compared with the pleasure they would experience if they gained an equal sum of money. In other words, losses have a much larger psychological impact (and therefore, impact on investor behavior) than gains.
