Hewlett-Packard (HPQ) said Tuesday it is recalling H-P and Compaq AC power cords "due to fire and burn hazards." H-P said the cords can "overheat, posing potential fire and burn hazard." The Palo Alto, Calif.-based technology company said it has received 29 reports of power cords "overheating and melting or charring" that resulted in "two claims of minor burns and 13 claims of minor property damage." H-P shares were up nearly 2% in afternoon trades.
