Shares of Janus Capital Group (JNS) soared 30% in premarket trade Friday after the it was hiring Bill Gross away from PIMCO.

Janus Capital Group Inc. (JNS) was lifted to buy from hold on Wednesday at Jefferies, where analysts said the addition of Pimco's co-founder Bill Gross will "jump start positive organic growth at Janus and lead to greater scale and efficiency across the franchise over time." Janus has the opportunity to keep outperforming, said an analyst team led by Daniel Fannon, who also lifted his price target on the group to $17 from $12.50. Assuming Gross is able to attract between 5% to 10% of the assets under management he managed at Pimco, or around $25 billion to $50 billion, Fannon said earnings accretion equals $0.20 to $0.40 annually.
