Miller recognized for leading Rally through its successful IPO and positioning the company for multiple industry recognitions and achievements
BOULDER, Colo., Dec. 2, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Rally (NYSE: RALY), a leading global provider of cloud-based solutions for managing Agile software development, today announces the company's Chairman and CEO Tim Miller has been named CEO of the Year by ColoradoBiz magazine. Now in its ninth year, the ColoradoBiz CEO of the Year award recognizes the outstanding professional achievement and community impact of its recipients while taking into account obstacles surmounted, career-long body of work or other unique elements of a CEO's life and work.
Since joining Rally as CEO in 2003, Miller has worked tirelessly to transform the software industry with modern software development practices called Agile. His efforts have steered the company to its current position as a Forrester-recognized leader in both Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) and in Project Portfolio Management (PPM) as well as a Magic Quadrant leader by Gartner. In 2012, The Denver Post named Miller one of the Top Leaders in Colorado. Earlier this year, Miller led Rally through a successful initial public offering, which enabled the company to deliver on its founding promise to give back to the community by donating more than $1 million to the Entrepreneurs Foundation of Colorado and the Rally for Impact Foundation.
"Throughout our history at Rally we have achieved tremendous growth and reached incredible milestones, and this past year has been no exception," said Miller. "While being recognized as CEO of the Year is an amazing honor, I view this more as a testament to our entire organization as it would never have been possible if it weren't for the collective efforts of every Rally employee and the community we support."
The ColoradoBiz award follows multiple achievements and awards for Rally and its executive team in 2013. Last month Rally was ranked No. 182 on Deloitte's Technology Fast 500™, a ranking of the 500 fastest growing technology, media, telecommunications, life sciences and clean technology companies in North America. The company was also recently named to B Corp's second "Best for the World" list of companies with the most positive overall social and environmental impact, Outside magazine's Best Place to Work list and ranked No. 8 on Fortune Magazine's Great Places to Work Best-Medium-Size Workplaces list.
Nominations for the ColoradoBiz CEO of the Year award were collected from the Colorado business community, ColoradoBiz readers and staff. A judging panel made up of the magazine's editorial board evaluated the nominations and selected the finalists and winners.
