  • Bell Media's Marilyn Denis, Michelle Dubé and Sandie Rinaldo also honoured

MONTREAL, Dec. 3, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - Bell today congratulated four of its leaders recognized by the Women's Executive Network (WXN) with the Canada's Most Powerful Women Top 100 Award: Mary Ann Turcke, Bell's Executive Vice President of Field Operations, inducted into the WXN Hall of Fame this year; Marilyn Denis and Sandie Rinaldo, recognized in the Arts & Communications category; and Michelle Dubé, awarded in the Future Leaders category.

"Mary Ann, Marilyn, Sandie and Michelle are dynamic and engaging leaders, dedicated to their work and to their communities, able to translate their energy, commitment and experience into outstanding business results while serving as a clear inspiration for their fellow team members," said George Cope, President and CEO of Bell Canada and BCE Inc. "On behalf of everyone at Bell, I offer them sincere thanks for their achievements and warmest congratulations on this well-deserved recognition by the Women's Executive Network."

A four-time WXN Top 100 award winner inducted into the WXN Hall of Fame this year, Mary Ann Turcke has been recognized for her success in driving Bell's customer-focused service strategy and the growth of Bell's next-generation Fibe TV and Internet services, for her leadership in the Bell Let's Talk mental health initiative, and for her support of the Women@Bell program, which mentors talented women leaders across Bell's national operations. Mary Ann is a member of the advisory board of the Queen's School of Business and the capital campaign for Queen's Faculty of Engineering & Applied Science, and serves on the board of directors of Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment (MLSE).

Marilyn Denis is host of Canada's #1 lifestyle series, The Marilyn Denis Show, and, for 27 years, co-host of the Roger, Darren & Marilyn morning radio show on 104.5 CHUM FM. A dominating presence in Toronto radio and Canadian television, Marilyn's quick wit, connection with the audience and charm has made her a fan favourite. She is a dedicated advocate for the fight against ovarian and breast cancer, a vocal supporter of organ donation, and was one of the first members of the SickKids Constellation, a premier group of celebrities who support the efforts of SickKids Foundation, a not-for-profit children's charity that raises funds on behalf of The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto.

Sandie Rinaldo is weekend anchor of CTV National News, Canada's most-watched national newscast since 1985, CTV News Channel noon anchor three days per week, and co-host and reporter for CTV's investigative news program W5. While on Canada AM, she made broadcast history when she became the first woman in Canada to anchor a daily network newscast. In addition to being recognized with numerous prestigious awards for her contributions to journalism and broadcasting, Sandie's powerful W5 investigative documentaries into issues such as elder abuse, questionable practices in nursing homes, or trafficking of Canadian women in the sex trade, serve to uncover truths, spark action, and in many cases, legislative changes. Sandie is a long-time advocate for the fight against lung cancer. In honour of her late husband, Sandie is raising funds to establish a research chair dedicated to making advancements in lung cancer research and treatment. She and her children have also raised money to build a quiet room at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto for families coping with a cancer diagnosis and the difficult decisions that follow.

Michelle Dubé became co-anchor of Toronto's #1 newscasts, CTV News at Six and CTV News at Noon, just five years after starting her professional career in television news in 2007. Michelle brings the same unflappable professionalism to  anchoring that she demonstrated daily as a field reporter, whether in the centre of violent G20 protests in 2010 in Toronto, or reporting live from atop the CN Tower's Skywalk. She is an active seniors and youth health advocate in her community and  helps raise awareness by hosting  a wide variety of events across the GTA each year. Known as a poised, articulate, mature, and highly professional journalist, Michelle routinely mentors aspiring newscasters and young women.

Bell has a proud history of WXN award winners, including Hall of Fame inductees Karen Sheriff, President & CEO of Bell Aliant, and Martine Turcotte, Bell's Vice Chair, Québec. Other Top 100 recipients include Jeanne Beker, Host of FashionTelevisionChannel; Karyn Brooks, Bell's Senior Vice President & Controller; Wendy Freeman, President of CTV News; and Heather Tulk, Senior Vice President, Bell Business Markets.
